Brand Development For Gerallt Evans Metalcraft
Yoke have been busy working with the inspiring Gerallt Evans Metalcraft documenting their vast array of beautiful metal craft work. G.E Metalcraft have been designing and building bespoke pieces all over North Wales and further for many years.
It's been our job to document it all through video and photography, telling the story of their brand. Developing a tone of voice for the brand and wider visual identity has been a lot of fun, drawing inspiration from the gnarly textures in their workshop and layers of colours in the materials they work with.
We’ve been travelling around Wales, visiting & documenting their past work over the Autumn and Winter. This was to build case studies for their new website and collect content for their social media. We’ve also been interviewing the team and filming their process up at their workshop. All these elements are being brought together and are being combined with design and original music composition to tell the story of Gerallt Evans Metalcraft.

Brand Identity Development
They came to us with a great logo, but were at the stage where they needed a more comprehensive brand identity. Using this a starting point, we developed their logo further and created a library of assets to use alongside.
Taking inspiration from the blacksmithing process, we chose a vibrant brand colour palette and named them appropriately.
The company workshop was a fantastic source of ideas - and from there, we collected brand textures to be used across the G.E Metalcraft collateral.
Gerallt’s chalk markings were found across the surfaces of the workshop, a fascinating insight into his creative process and a really great element that we introduced over their brand textures.

These are just the early stages of our journey with GEM and we have loved every minute. As a taster here’s a landing page that we created for them which brings everything together - showcasing this new era for Gerallt Evans Metalcraft. A full website is on it’s way!
Design for instagram
A bold & memorable design for the grid was what we were asked to create. A really fun piece of the project to work on, using their key messaging we had developed and introducing the developed brand style.
Behind each grid square we created a video reel, telling a piece of the Gerallt Evans Metalcraft story.

GEM produce timeless metal craft pieces that are stunning to look at but also practical and long lasting. With the combination of traditional blacksmithing techniques, bespoke metal design and modern CNC automation- The Gerallt Evans team have achieved incredible works over the years including gates, staircases, balconies, bar tops and tabletops to name just a few. Creating some jaw dropping work at places such as The Gwydyr Hotel, Tir A Mor and The Sea Zoo. Gerallt Evans has also created some beautiful pieces of public art including ‘The Sword / Blade of the Giants’ in LLyn Padarn and oh… I also can’t forget to mention that they even constructed an underground golf course for Zipworld!
